Jim’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, elder law and real estate.  Jim is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).  Jim is a title insurance agent with First American Title Insurance Company.

Before joining Smith Law, P.A. in 2014, Jim worked in various legal and nonlegal jobs including a stint as a paralegal at a mid-sized New York City law firm.  After college he spent a year in Taiwan teaching English to elementary school students.  Jim grew up in New Jersey, spent summers in Maine throughout childhood, and now lives in Yarmouth with his family.

Jim is a 2013 honors graduate of Vermont Law School where he was a member of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law and a fellow for the US-China Partnership for Environmental Law.  He is admitted to the Maine, New York and New Jersey bars.
